Valentine's Day is just around the corner and this is the perfect sized cake to share with loved ones on Valentine's Day! (It is even big enough to eat yourself....) it is super quick and easy and looks amazing!
I made this super adorable cake for Valentine's Day and I can say that this cake was AMAZING! it tasted and looked super pretty!
To make the cake I-
• Used a boxed cake mix (white cake) but you can use your favorite recipe!
•a small circle cake pan
• our homemade strawberry Cooli
• Your favorite frosting ( I made a simple homemade butter cream by combining butter, baking sugar, and milk to my desired consistency
•red food color
•star piping tip and piping bag
• Grated 97% pure dark chocolate (to add saltiness)
I started by cutting out a circle of wax paper the size of the bottom of my pan. I then separated the pan with no-stick baking spray. I made two small cakes with one box of cake mix. I then baked them and let them cool. After they cooled I trimmed off the top of each cake so they each had a flat top. I then layered the cake with a thin layer of frosting and then my Cooli. I stacked my other galf on top. Afterwards I put a thin layer of white buttercream around the entire cake as the crumb coat. I then piped on my pink buttercream in a bunch of mini swirls ALL over my cake. This looks so elegant and professional even though it took no time to make!! Garnish with chocolate shavings, a chocolate covered strawberry, strawberrys, or fondant!
How to make the delicious starberry Cooli!
I started off, by putting 1 cup of strawberries in a sauce pan on medium heat. I added a teaspoon of water and a tablespoon of sugar. Reduce until you get your desired consistency. I left my strawberries whole to add texture. You can, however, strain your Cooli if you wish!
