Today I decided to try out erasable clay by Sculpy. I have seen it around for a while now and decided to give it a go.Also with back to school season around the corner it'd be cool to see if kids could really make their own unique erasers that can actually erase well. The kit comes with six colors of clay: Pink, Green, Yellow, Orange, Blue, and Purple, along with two purple clay tools and instructions. They kit comes with a total of six ounces of clay, one ounce for each color. I started off by sculpting four things out of the clay, a cupcake, a star, a heart, and a pencil topper. I preheated the oven to 250 degrees and put the clay charms in for 15 minutes. *The Instructions say 20 minutes but my pieces were relatively thin and I have bad experiences with Sculpy burning.
Impressions on clay itself
The clay itself was very easy to work with and had almost a nice plastic texture and was also very shiny, I was curious to see if it would last after baking.
Impressions after baking
The shininess did fade but I was happy with the ending result. The colors didn't fade and almost seemed more bold afterward. The pencil topper surprisingly also stayed on the top of my pencil while writing which I was also surprised to see. The pieces do erase but do smear which I assumed would happen. I would not recommend using them at school or work as an eraser for it will leave you with a sloppy paper but I do like the product. The ending result is different than regular Sculply for the end result has a different texture and is a bit shinier. I also tested out mixing colors and I am pleased to say they do blend quite nicely and in my opinion blends quicker than Sculpys original clay
